Women of all ages can benefit from FemiLift

    What is FemiLift?

FemiLift is a non-invasive vaginal rejuvenation treatment. It uses an advanced, new CO2 laser device to help the
body produce new collagen fibres, increasing the underlying tension, strength and elasticity of the vaginal walls.
This helps tighten the vagina, and can also help some cases of Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI)
    – small leaks of urine that can happen when you cough, sneeze, laugh or move.
FemiLift is also an effective treatment for vaginal dryness (including menopausal dryness).

    Why does collagen break down?

There are a number of reasons why collagen fibres can lose their elasticity and strength:

      • Childbirth

      • Surgery

      • Hysterectomy

      • Ageing

      • Smoking

      • Obesity

These cause a breakdown of the vaginal tissue’s normal collagen and replace it with fibres that do not stretch and recoil as healthy fibres should.

Other effects of collagen breakdown include SUI and less pleasurable sexual intercourse.

Stress Urinary Incontinence: This consists of urine leakage during increased abdominal pressure and changing positions, coughing, sneezing and laughing. It can also be accompanied by urge incontinence/overactive bladder.

Less pleasurable sexual intercourse: The loosening or stretching of the vaginal wall can contribute to reduced sexual satisfaction from loss of sensation.

Both of these conditions are known to cause women body image and confidence issues, reducing their quality of life.

    How does FemiLift work?

The FemiLift procedure involves having a small, sterile probe gently inserted inside your vagina. Using the FemiLift laser, the probe will deliver thermal heating into the tissues of the vaginal wall. The thermal effect of the laser encourages collagen production and aids in remodelling tissues.

Studies on FemiLift for SUI and UI (Urge Incontinence)

Recent medical studies have shown that in cases of SUI and UI (where there are no other underlying medical or physical complications), FemiLift is not only a suitable treatment, but highly effective in significantly improving these conditions.

In fact, 80-87.5% of suitable candidates for FemiLift treatment of SUI / UI were either cured, or showed significant improvement in their condition.

What if my SUI or UI is quite severe?

Studies have shown that there is no difference in the efficacy of the treatment when taking into account the level of severity of incontinence. (it works whether your SUI/UI is mild or severe).

    Will it work for me?

In suitable candidates for FemiLift for SUI/UI, there is an 80-90% chance of success after 3 sessions of FemiLift, with dramatic improvement seen in some cases after only 2 sessions.

Of course, all of our FemiLift treatments are subject to a FREE assessment by our Gynaecological team here at The Fitzwilliam Private Clinic, where you will be given an indication of what to expect from your treatment.
